Firmly anchored in a sea of red sand, is silhouetted against the brightening early morning sky, which changes from pale glow to a soft yellow and then through various hues of blue to the almost blinding white of midday. During the heat of the day, all colour is bleached – except that on the Red Rock, which dominates every view.
