FORTIFIED MILL AT BARBASTE
This is a painting on board that I did at Barbaste a few years ago. The Romanesque bridge was a tricky nightmare because square angles and parallel lines were not important to the original architects and builders in the middle ages, and the result is that they are not true. However, after lots of sketches I think I finally got it right.
